England's Oldest Attraction Turns Teddy Bears To Stone

In Knaresborough, in Yorkshire, sits Mother Shipton's Cave. Folks there have been charging admission for nearly 400 years, and the star of the show is a "petrifying well". A few folk legends do actually turn out to be true.

  • Honestly it kinda makes me angry that you have to pay to go there. Just something about how theses interesting places are always commercialized now so there's nothing left to discover and you've got to pay to experience it. I have no interest in the attraction itself however, but idk. Just something about the commercialization bothers me.

    • Idk about laws of physics, but physics in general proves we cannot tell the future or make prophecies. There is an incomprehensible amount of things you would have to be able to know to truly predict the future. And those amount of things can quickly snowball and cause unexpected things to happen, aka the Butterfly Effect.

Also I believe the little lips on the cliff face aren't lips of the rock its actually hats that have been there for years and years and years that have been completely covered and become part of the actual wall (or that's what I was told at least).

  • I extremely don't like the closed mindedness about seeing the future. Other than that, it's a great video! Unless you can completely disprove something with 100% accuracy and precision, you shouldn't claim it as a definite false.

    rmt3589rmt3589Månad sedan
    • I extremely don't like irrational nonsense like "seeing the future". It has never been proven to be a thing or even worked ever, the closet thing to it is random guesses that turned out to be true (aka "prophecies"). It is perfectly reasonable to call something false if you are able to disprove it even with 60% accuracy, and if it has never been proven.

    Shane DillonShane DillonMånad sedan
    • If science cannot explain it, there is no way in hell it is even remotely possible. And science has had ample time and resources to prove it. Either science is somehow wrong about this or maybe it is just impossible. And given history the former is not likely.
